Our Story
Blackstone Grill was founded in 20XX by John Smith in his hometown of Anytown, USA. As an avid outdoorsman, John loved cooking over an open flame during camping trips with his family and friends. He saw how gathering around a fire brought people together through delicious food and memorable experiences.
When John became frustrated with the limiting options for backyard grilling, he set out to design a better grill. After months of prototyping and testing, the first Blackstone griddle was born in John’s garage. This revolutionary outdoor cooking appliance was crafted from high-quality steel and featured an expansive flat top for cooking anything, anywhere.
Word of mouth spread about John’s incredible griddle invention and neighborhood cookouts began migrating to his house. Seeing how his grill delighted family and friends, John realized the potential mainstream appeal. He officially established Blackstone Grill and contracted with a local manufacturer to start production.
The first commercially available Blackstone Griddles hit the market in 20XX. Since then, we’ve continued expanding our outdoor cooking lineup with innovative products that make cooking easy and fun. Over the past decade, Blackstone has become the #1 brand in outdoor griddles in North America. Our products are now sold by major retailers across the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia.

Our Headquarters
Our corporate headquarters and original manufacturing facility is located in Anytown, USA where our founder first began tinkering with griddles in his garage.
Our custom-built, 100,000 square foot HQ houses our executive leadership, design team, engineering and R&D labs, supply chain operations, sales and marketing departments, and some light manufacturing.
The expansive Innovation Center is the heart of our operation. This is where our product designers brainstorm concepts, build prototypes, and rigorously test new outdoor cooking inventions. Our in-house engineering team works ceaselessly to take a product from idea to reality.
The company cafeteria sparks creativity by allowing our team to test recipe ideas on the latest Blackstone products. Our equipment testing labs provide valuable quality assurance and durability feedback before products reach manufacturing.

While product design happens at our Anytown HQ, high-volume manufacturing takes place at our network of factories in the USA.

In addition to large-scale manufacturing, we operate a smaller custom shop at our headquarters. This allows our production team to hand-build limited products and new prototypes. Although quantities are small, the care and craftsmanship is unwavering.

Our product development process consists of 4 key phases:
Ideation
Great products start with great ideas. Our engineering team constantly sketches, brainstorms, and experiments with ways to improve the outdoor cooking experience. They analyze the latest cooking trends and directly engage with our customers to identify unmet needs.
Prototyping
The most promising ideas get built into physical prototypes using our in-house shop. We start by mocking up rough concept models, then move to more refined 3D printed or machined prototypes for preliminary testing.
Design Iteration
Extensive testing and feedback from internal stakeholders helps refine the product design even further. We dial in details like product geometry, usability, durability, and functionality through rapid design iterations before freezing the industrial design.
Commercialization
